My Friend Sam (A CSR Story)

repCB

May 27, 2005, 5:10 PM
Let me tell you about my friend Sam. Sammy's a great guy. He works hard here at Cingular, and he goes above and beyond the call to help out a customer. His stats are low because he spends so much time trying to actually research an issue and help a customer, rather than just zip them on and off the phone. His managers look past this though, since he's a great guy who's very knowledgeable and always does his job. Hell, he hasn't missed a day of work or been late for four years.

Like most CSRs, Sam makes just enough pay to get by and takes a lot of hell from most customers, even though he's trying to help them. His motivation for being patient and continuing to work hard is the fact that he recently started a college fund for his daughter,...

Amen!

That story saddens me a lot. Everyone wants everything free and its a shame. People are too greedy these days. But whenever they encounter someone who pleases them, the customer never goes out of his/her way to acknoledge the service they have received. Maybe it's because they have nothing to complain about? Maybe it's just the way the world is?

Im sorry to hear about your buddy, Sam.

AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH! !

This is the worst thing I have read in years, and I read the economist! There is no justice for Sam, and by ****, I'd give my left testicle to make it right.

Seriously, this post hurt. It still does.

What are we going to do? Where do we write? Who do we call? We (and I am talking about anyone and everyone who empathizes, in any way. I know there are quite a few who attend this forum).
I hope the reps in your center don't take this lying down.

i think sam wants attention...we have been all over this on the cingular forum

grounds probably are the fact that he gave a cust a free month of service and a razor phone for $20.... do you honestly think that something wasnt going to be said... sure sam you did a great thing by trying to sve a customer but a razor???? come on man. discount that cla or case, something we dont get paid very much for and also doesnt cost cingular a lot of money.

😲 😲 😲

disciplinary program under the cobc, ethics compliance program. and employee relations program does not provide consistent discipline for all cingular employees, even though it states they do. The ethics office reviews and results in a final written warning or termination with written warning . first we need to know if he was given written documentation as a new hire. not 4 yrs ago . was is rolled out in training. maybe we dont know. was this decision for termination cunsulted with the ethics office ? perhaps. code of business conduct. issue was not over the 150 something he gave out. If it was hed of been personally charged the 150 something and the customer would have gotten what he wanted. customer did not get the benifit...

Sign me up for 12 of 'em,
Then I'll sell 'em for 150.00 each...
Sam can have 60% of the profits.....That should help him out..
