Poor defeat... Shame on AWS, they are trained to be stupid.
Defeat, please escalate the call to technical support, or any sup. They have to unlock your sim card. U still have the code? If not, here it goes again>
AWS7/97553-00730/2
They have to do that. It's a billing account issue, they are the the ones who deal with that.

You sir are really a BIG dumbass.

1) You do NOT know AWS company policy, so do not give out half-assed advice thinking that you do.

2) AWS WILL unlock your SIM card if you locked it and accidently forgot the code. It's a process that takes a bit, but it can be done.

3) Defeat was trying to get the unlock code for the SUBSIDY LOCK, which according to ToC is NOT possible to be given out.

Stick to motorola help until you can give out more accurate information.

Ignorant prick, subsidy lock.

Read the words.. Subsidy = subsidizing something, in other words DISCOUNTING something. We provided that 300 dollar phone for like 50 bucks, thats a 250 dollar investment we're not going to let go.
Lock = something to keep people from getting into something they're not allowed to. Wow.

Look, I'll tell you how this process works. moobak is right, we do not unlock phones -- says so in the terms and conditions of your contract.

The way it works is that CC Reps cannot do it. TSD can. TSD does not speak to customers. TSD is full of smart techies, for the most part, who know what they can and cannot do. Part of TSD training is what policy you should watch out for, and unlocking phones is covered as a no-no.

So you're not going to get a silly CC Rep doing it for you -- we can't. And you're not going to get them to contact technical support desk (TSD) to do it -- we'll get a nasty coaching form and our supervisors will kick our butts. AND you're not going to talk to TSD unless you get someone who REALLY doesn't know their jo...

MotoPaulie, you need a big drink of STFU...

In all honesty, you could escelate on up the line to John Zeglis, you still won't get the lock code. Want your code unlocked? You're going to have to find someone who knows it, and pay them to do it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't phones locked because of how much they cost. I always thought that a compnay locks a phone and sells it for cheaper, by forcing the phone on their network inturn creating revenue. If companies allowed other phones they could not lock a user to their network which would increase churn. So as a company this policy makes sense to me.

What is this message supposed to mean? Jaded was entirely correct with his post. The company pays a higher cost then what they sell the phone for so they then turn around and lock the phone to protect their investment. Just try and buy a phone that is unlocked and you will start to get a better idea of what the company buys the the phone for. You know what would be funny is if the cellular companies all got together and decided to stop selling phones period. Just tell the customers screw you, go buy it from the manufacturer. I imagine that this would cause the manufacturer's to sell the phones for less and it would stop this bitching about locked phones once and for all. Just see how much greeener the grass is on the other side when y...
