50% Usage Rule
Does anyone out there know if AT&T Wireless still has the 50/50 rule? 50% of the usage has to be used on the AT&T network or they have the right to cancel your service. And if so does and ETF apply? 😳

The rule is still in effect. 50% of usage during any 3 month period. So it doesn't have to be 3 months in a row. it could be december march and august. About the ETF I'm not sure. When they first started it the ETF didn't apply.

😁 if your think that will get you out of contract think again 🙂

it does apply on new services or plans changed since it went into effect. the reasoning is that when you signed up they gave they told you it in t&c. and at plane change that is in the verbatim statement

1. When ever did I say I was on service with AT&T Wireless I'm asking a question.
2. When did I say I was trying to get out of any contract.
All I was doing was trying to find out if that rule still applied and if there was any ETF if they decided to cancel my services. With the expanded coverage there is service in an area where I spend lots of my time. So before I start service on this new plan I want to make sure of this. Before I wind up with no service and a bill for an ETF.

Glad to see someone asking the questions BEFORE they sign up and not after.
The best thing to do is try the service and utilize the 30-day buyer's remorse period. You'll be responsible for any airtime/data you use, but you'll be able to cancel w/o an ETF if you are not satisfied.

Yes the 50% Usage Rule still applies. If the majority of your useage is out of the network for up to a 3 month period, your account can be canceled. This is under the new terms and conditions... if you are grandfathered under the old T&C you will only be 'asked' to cancel. Maybe even bought out (your contract). If you started your service under the new T&C or if you changed your plan while the new term came into effect you will have no choice.
