😲 You are probably asking why anyone would say that!!! But SunCom did. Once a member of the AT&T Wireless network SunCom is branding themselves as SunCom Wireless now. Anyone in local areas that SunCom covers maybe noticing that all their advertisements are no longer saying SunCom A Member of the AT&T Wireless Network. Now just say SunCom Wireless. Apparently a sign of things to come. SunCom is announcing a national roaming agreement with TMobile to provide SunCom customers the ability to roam on TMobile's GSM network and for TMobile customer's to roam on the SunCom GSM network where tMobile doesn't provide coverage. (NC & SC) Could SunCom become a member of the tMobile network OR.... (my thought) be bought out by TMobile. Any thou...

Uh, didn't you just say that in the post I responded to? What I wanted to know was whether or not Tmobile customers could roam on Suncom's network where Cingular wouldn't otherwise permit them to, or didn't offer coverage at all (Cingular lets Tmobile use its networks in much of NC and SC).

Well then, that's a big deal. I guess Tmobile was a little leery of the ATTWS buyout? Maybe they thought that Cingular was going to somehow change the agreements that were in place to allow TMobile use of Cingular's network in NC and SC?

Given the fact that Cingular just recently pulled it's tower sharing with T-Mobile I wouldn't be too excited about T-Mobile right now because their coverage will suck.

Man, you really have no clue what you are talking about. Did you even READ the news story? This whole thing with Cingular is a huge plus for T-Mobile, because instead of sharing towers with Cingular they are buying them at a very reasonable price. Their coverage won't suffer at all, and may actually get better because the cell sites won't have to support as many users.

I don't recall the news article stating they sold their spectrum to go with it... having a million towers is useless if you don't have enough spectrum, and let's face it... T-Mobile doesn't have that great of a spectrum portfolio.

Maybe you should read the article again. Look for keywords "spectrum" and "MHz".

Hmm... that's intresting... 20 Mhz in exhange for 10 and $180 mil ... plus an option to gain 10 Mhz more...

I must've missed that in the original article.

I work for Suncom here in Asheville, North Carolina and we already know that Tmobile has bought Suncom. It's a done deal. This is good for Suncom because they are losing a lot of customers over AT&T been bought out by Cingular. Next month Suncom is changing their logo and colors to red and white (the colors now are blue and white). Tmobile colors are also read and white.

1) SunCom is probably rebranding because of the buyout. Since AWS is going to become part of Cingular, it wouldn't make sense to consider SunCom part of the AWS network, otherwise they might as well say they are part of the Cingular network.

2) T-Mobile will not buy out SunCom... you are forgetting that AWS still has a large stakehold in that company. Why would they just give that up?

3) To reemphasize that T-Mobile will not buy them out, have you ever heard of a roaming agreement? Yeah, its that thing that happens that lets a carrier use another's towers, not really buy them out... yah.

Anyways, stop spewing out ideas that won't ever happen, stick to the facts.

Okay lets stick to the facts shall we. AT&T has no large stake in SunCom. They only owned 17% of the company. THAT IS NOTHING! Besides with the acquisition AT&T is giving up it's stake in the company and are rebranding because AT&T will no longer be a part of it. Which leave SunCom an independent company with no income. The company is performing horribly. With the pathetic plans and coverage they have. PLUS the horrible policies that are forcing customers to abandon ship. They aren't doing well in the Wireless market at all. Eventually their only hope would be a buy out themselves. And the way that company is run lol they would do it with tmobile over cinguar just to stick it to them!

So I am in no way saying that they are be...
