Perhaps one of your bigwigs saw what you guys/gals were posting and decided to put a crimp in it?

Blocked in OKC too.

I never posted while at work, but I did read the board when I had a chance. Plus it is a good to tool to guide customers on phone reviews.

Hmm...another useful tool taken away by mgmt. No wonder morale is so low....

=(

This may sound crappy, but our employers pay us to work, not tool around on the internet. And yes, I do it also.

Yes but they also pay us to do a job and buy taking away tools to help us in that job they are just making it harder for us to do the job they are paying us for, Don't they see this, I would like to know the real reason it was barred.

It was barred, if I had to guess, because they don't want employees giving away corporate information before that info is due for dissemination. They also probably don't want you guys badmouthing the company, which I've seen a few of you do. And besides, I don't care what you call it (in your words...a "tool")...but going online and messing around on Phonescoop is not considered "good" for the company. It sucks, I know (because I do it too)...but that's just corpo...

Granted, the following would probably result in even more intolerable restrictions on "work related internet browsing" but there is still stuff out there.

www.erowid.org - information about and relating to, drugs, legalities, experience reports, etc.
www.irt.org - some games, Tetris and Snake to name the more popular ones
www.meat.org - funny anti-carnivore site. you'll love the "testimonies"
**I keep seeing people say news.org has a games section, is that still valid? I haven't found it.**
www.shroomery.org - name pretty much speaks for itself.
www.atheism.org - interesting, but personally I thought it was dissapointing. Its just dogma from the other side of the spectrum if you actually read it.

Have fun, don't get caught, post m...

All .org, .edu and .gov sites, to my knowledge, are available for viewing.

And yes, news.org has a games section. It's located in the upper left hand corner? I am probably wrong on the location, but I know it was there last week. I played a tetris-like game while on lunch.

They don't want you knowing anything but what you're told AT WORK. You're perfectly able to access the site at home.

If they really paid attention all they would do is block the forums, thats really the only place that reps "waste" (note: not my opinion here) their time. Any of the areas that show phone stats, etc are usually used for reference. But then that would require that they actually give a **** about how we are treated.

Basically, it boils down to the fact that our employers don't want us wasting THEIR time fudging about on the internet.

It truly is a joke that a multi-billion dollar company does not allow it's employees to access the Internet.

If they want to monitor the adult sites, the emails, etc, that's fine. But to come right out and block Internet access is insane. If it is effecting the employees job, then their stats/performance will be effected. if they are not effected, then leave them alone and let them browse.

Working at AT&T Wireless, it is a shame that they recently blocked phonescooop. I guess they figured we were on it more than we should have been (paying attention to new phones as opposed to the customer's needs).
