New dealer looking for advice

Hey my friends, I've been selling T-Mobile and Verizon for some time, and we're starting to sell ATTWS as of this month since they just acquired my territory. For now we're only selling TDMA until July, so I'm looking for a little feedback on those handsets. Is the Moto C353 a reliable phone, and how well has it been selling? Also, since the V60 is the only clamshell offered for TDMA, is it a decent phone? I like the CDMA verson alright. I'm a little puzzled by the Nokia 6360. We had it for Cellular One, but I'm not sure if the price point is justified. Is anybody buying it, and what is so special about it? I'm ordering phones today, so any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

That's what I've always thought about that series of Motorolas too, but I didn't know if it applied to TDMA. As far as Nokia goes... are you thinking of the 6560? That's the one that looks identical to the 6610 for GSM. I'm talking about the 6360, the bullet shaped one with the B & W screen.

Gah! You're right. I'm sorry. I WAS thinking of the 6560. My friends and I refer to the 6360 as the, well..."thing that woman use to pleasure themselves with" phone. LOL. It's a good phone though. At least from my perspective of activating them and getting feedback from customers.

Pain to program! you can say that again! Blasted thing! I do not like Motorola's.

If I can help it I will try to direct a customer toward a Nokia.

But the new one is the V60ci, and it's OTA capable, right? Again just for the record, I'm not selling TDMA only by choice. They are just rolling out their services a little at a time since its a new territory, and TDMA comes first and then GSM next month. As far as the Nokias go, I personally use a Nokia 6610 with T-Mobile, and I LOVE it. I was wondering if its TDMA twin was as good as it is.

The V60 Color phone is a somewhat better model. But it is still very non-user friendly (poor menu system and software) and I still get my fair share of calls about poor reception and power issues. Nokias are still the best, even tho they don't look like it. =)

As for the OTA, I can say that in my case, I have only gotten the OTA to work once on any motorola phone. I always have to manually program the phone first. And to be honest, I prefer manually programming the phone, and any phone for that matter. By taking the time to manually program it, and making test calls, I know that it is working and that the customer won't have to call in to get their phone activated when the OTA fails.

As an indy dealer, I highly recommend manually ...

The Motorola V60 sucks, Motorola still hasn't addressed that blasted broken antenna issue, it's very un-user friendly, gets horrible reception, and their customer "support" sucks ass. I haven't heard anything good about the C353 either. Pretty much all of the Nokia's are really good. The 2260 is a good basic phone, my daughter has one and she has had it for almost a month now and still hasn't had to charge the battery on it! (Granted she only used 27 minutes last month, but damn a month without charging???!!) My husband has the 6360 and it's definitely one of the best TDMA phones AWS carries.

yep can't really go wrong service wise with nokias, and the 2260 was one of the worst nokia phones along with the 1260, and they still out do motoralas Only bad thing really with nokias is the lack of a flip phone and general style of the phones tends to be aimed at a fadish cust.

Come on, doesn't anyone else want to sound off, or do you all refuse to discuss 2G now? 😉

Hmmmmm.....okay.....

Though all the really cool phones are on the 2.5 or 3 G side of things....

Well.....I had a good giggle over the 6560 and one of the comments earlier, I had to pull up Nokia's site just to have a look and to giggle some more
