True, but they also prevent a negative customer experience from having to go through the aforesaid scenario. If the customer has a negative experience such as this where they are forced to pay for calls that in their eyes they shouldnt have, albeit the charges may truly be legit, the customer is most likely to churn. Now losing subscribers to silly incidences like this can also affect our profitability negatively. Less customers equals less profit, so your argument can go both ways. Is a short term gain really worth the long term loss of a customer?

Ok, so is this a grudge against moto or a grudge against flip phones. I can sort of agree with you on moto, I think this could be solved however by requiring someone to have an IQ of at least 115 to buy a moto. And yes, I know this would disqualify 90% of buyers who get it because "that there phone shor is purdy lookin, now ain't it isabella".

You don't have to convert me...I'm a standard Nokia bar phone lover. I've got a 3589 now and I'm waiting for Verizon to come out with something higher end. As for the 6820, the keyboard may flip out...but I'll be damned if I don't love it.
