NEC 525 question

JDigital

Jun 30, 2004, 6:35 PM
Hey everybody... a couple of weeks ago there was a thread about this phone and whether or not it was a good one, and I think everybody who was down on this phone is mistaken. Either that or they've fixed the complaints. The earpiece volume is great and so is the signal strength. Anyway, here's my question: does anyone know if its possible to make this phone answer an incoming call automatically when you flip it open? Mine requires you to open it then accept the call, and I have been playing with the settings but I can't find it. Any help?

You're kidding us. No auto answer on flipping it open? Wow. Expensive phone not to have that feature.

No, seriously... I think they must have fixed some of those problems on later software models, because I keep mine in a Milante belt holster thing and I hear it just fine. Plus it vibrates pretty well. And to tell the truth, the no active flip thing isn't really bothering me a whole lot. I like this phone better than I expected to. It feels very solid and well built, with a nice clicking hinge. It reminds me of the build quality on the SE Z600.

Really?! That thing felt plasticky to me. And I even liked the clickety clack of the hinge, as well.

Which one felt plasticky? Both phones have a nice solid chunky feel to them, which I like. I don't mind the size. And BTW Big Daddy... I've had my hands on enough phones to know what's what. Nobody will argue that Nokia and Samsung both make really nice phones. I would throw my hat into the ring for LG as well, at least the CDMA models. Currently my T-Mobile phone is the Nokia 6610 (a classic) and my Verizon phone is the LG VX4600. I think next will be the V600 for T-Mobile and the Samsung A670 for Verizon. My dad is using the ATTWS V600, and after behaving strangely for about a day out of the box, he is loving it now. I tried it out with my new Moto bluetooth speakerphone accessory, and it works pretty sweet.
