Question about AT&T -> Cingular

I have my own guesses on what will happen here, but I thought I'd take a chance and pose the question to a larger audience.

I have a Charter GSM plan with AT&T which gives me unlimited anytime minutes for $100/mo. This was an original inducement to get people off of the TDMA network and onto the GSM network.

No carrier offers such a plan today, so I'm going to wind up paying more when my plan is up regardless--I realize and accept that (begrudgingly).

The question is: Will Cingular honor AT&T plans until they are over, or will Cingular force me to another plan before my plan is up? Has anyone heard anything about this?

I went to AT&T's website awhile ago and according to a statement from their upper management-Your service will still be honored once the merger is complete. Once your contract is over is a different story all together.

Actually, as it stands now (bear in mind that thinks may change before the deal is approved) an ATTWS customer will have their contract honored, and will be able to continue with no change. Whatever you have in place will continue unless YOU decide to change it.

Cingular is working on something called CSE - Common Service Experience- plans that will most likely combine the best of both companies.

Price plans between Cingular and T-Mobile are very competitive. For example, Cingular offers MEdia Works for data, which includes 1500 text messages, 200 MMS messages, and unlimited Wireless Internet Express for 19.99 a month. Coverage on Cingular is MUCH larger, and handset selection is as well. Just some food for thought.
