This weekend I went on a simple car camping trip with my family and friends to Estes Park in Colorado. We hiked up a dirt road only 1 1/2 miles from the camp site. Seven of us scampered up the hillside to climb some boulders and get a view. On the way down one woman stepped on a large boulder and it moved. She lost her balance and tumbeled head first down the hillside with the boulder following. In seconds she was pinned under the two ton boulder. The boulder landed on both legs from just below the knee down. Some of us had our cell phones but only the ATT analog service get a signal for the 911 call! We were not in heavy duty backcountry wilderness area, but rather 2 miles from a major road (Rt. 36)!
