Anyone know what kind of phone lockline offers for a samsung v206? any info would be appreciated. I am other phones as well if anyone knows what kind they offer for each model...
...
lockline determines what phones they will replace , we offer lockline at AT&T wireless but lockline themselves would be better to speak with about what phones they use to replace. The V206 was discontinued a long time ago, so i don't know what insurance would replace it with , i know they try to find something similar to the V206 ....maybe another samsung or a LG phone. But call lockline to find out for sure , their # is 1-877-288-4678. hopefully that helps you 😁

lockline doesn't decide... they send the request to the stores and there the stores have the decision to make. all lockline does is verify ins and submit claims.
...
if that is true that is strange
...
big daddy.... that statement isn't true AT&T WIRELESS STORES HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH GETTING YOUR PHONE REPLACED THROUGH LOCKLINE !!!! that is why lockline has a separate #, if our customers could go into a store and get their phones replaced, that would make it a lot easier. like i said before you would be better to call lockline first and see what they would replace it with. If you have insurance on your account they will charge a $35 deductible for replacement . so believe me when i tell you the stores have nothing to do with it and a rep at lockline will tell you that themselves

Give lockline a call and ask them what they will replace a discontinued phone model with (Example: LG 4050)... And reply to this post w/ what they tell you...
...
do you have insurance on your account with AT&T wireless?
...
or you could call them yourself their # is 877-288-4678.... you would need to have insurance on your account to be eligible for replacement through lockline. let me know and i'll try to find out

Does not need to be AT&T... lockton has the same policies for ATTWS and Cingular... both companies share the same insurance. (Which is one thing the merger will not affect)
...
Oh.... didn't know that Cingular had lockline as well. You should give them a call cause i would need an account in order to call lockline to see what they replace the phones with, but they should be able to tell you with no problem 😁

They have... that's why I know it's the stores discretion as to which phone to replace it with.

I meant I have.
...
All carriers have matrices that apply when doing insurance replacements. So let's say you had a Motorola V300... they might replace it with a phone with similar features and pricing, say a V400 if you had Cingular.

Right... the carriers... not the insurance
...
When I get insurance I request in writing what the replacement would be. If for some reason I would not be happy with the replacement I can then cancel the insurance or argue thse issue prior to any claim.
One concern I have is that the two firms seem to have no competition. The have split the territories and do not compete so their pricing and coverage is not competitive.

What two firms?
...
lockline & asurion are the two main firms providing this type of property insurance coverage. Each one islicensed to do business incertain territories. For instance in Colorado I could not use Lockling but would need to use Asurion.
...
they are also the same company corparate wise, two divisions of same company.
...
what other options exist?

So what are you saying...The store goes and fedex's the customer the phone? I've never heard of a store fedexing a phone. I know with AWS the customer is couriered the phone through fedex. I don't know who sends it but it sounds really odd that a store would send it.
