I was told by a cingular sales rep that AT&T would have to convert all of its customers from TDMA to GSM beginning Oct. Is this true??? Would I get a great deal on a GSM??? Yeah - I am still using the old school....

We haven't been told anything about this. Cingular can't make AWS do anything untill the merger is aproved and that won't even happen untill End of OCT. As far as i know there are still cingular TDMA customers. If you are interested in upgrading then you can go to http://www.attwireless.com and click on 'upgrade my phone' at the bottom right of the page. Click on GSM and then enter your wireless number, billing zipcode and last four of your SSN. It will give you the prices on the phones. Or you can call up Customer care at 1-800-888-7600 and we can tell you what kind of prices you will get on phones.
