I currently have a moto V551. My contract is up and I am just paying month to month. I want to buy a new, unlocked RAZR V6 maxx online, but I know the SIM card I have can't take advantage of the 3G capabilities of this phone.

So how do I get a new, updated SIM card through "the new at&t" with my current phone number and info on it, that I can put in my new maxx?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

are you on cingular's network or the old at&t wireless network....if at&t your out of luck....if your on cingy's go to any store and get an updated sim...they might charge you..if you tell them cust service said you could have one and they put a note in your account they prob wont check and will just give you one....

....if you want a 3G phone just go for the v3xx the camera is only 1.3 but snaps really really quick....and all the feaqture such as the bright screen and voice dial seem to be perfected.....cing phones work best on cings network!!!!!

if you want a better camera onyour phone then wait a few weeks and get the Nokia N75, nokia does make the most reliable phone.

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree on that. I think Sony Ericsson makes the most reliable phones out there. Nokia is good on their flagship phones like the N series, but when it comes to their lower end phones they drop the ball.

have you ever heard of the Nokia 6010?? that phone is indestructable....nokia has by far the best RF rating...you can get signal in places you cant with other phones..to me other than PANTECH SE is the worst manufatcurer of phones that cingy carries..with one exception..the w810i..it is a very very good phone..

If your referring to the N-series it shows me that your more concerened with featues....yes Nokia doesnt look to mass produce for america with their phones..instead they make the cheapest good working phones around...Hopefully with the arriving of the N75, the n-series will prove to be a money maker for nokia in the U.S. and hopefully will lead to the release more n-series models here...

You can disagree all you want, but it doesn't make it true. 😛 Nokias are bricks. My mom had a Nokia for 4 years and only replaced it b/c the battery finally refused to be charged anymore. The basic models will last next to eternity and tend to have GREAT signal strength.

When you buy the phone, a new SIM card will come with it. Just be aware that you may have to get a current plan instead of being able to keep the old one.

He is talking about buying it unlocked which means hes not buying it from Cingular and in doing so will not get a new SIM card with it. Just go into any Cingular store and request a new SIM card some stores charge $25 for them but at least you will have your 3G working.
