New Plan on At&t

Just saw a ad on TV about AT&T/Cingular plan where the land lines on Bellsouth, AT&T and Cingular wireless customers are all considered in network calling...
Anybody has details and prices.
thanks

you must have a Cingular plan of 59.99 or higher and you must have unlimited local and long distance from bellsouth/at&t.....

the plans with cingular are the equivalent of their current National plans but do not offer rollover....

Honestly its hard to come up with a reason why anyone would need a home phone, so to me the plans are useless

It's not the regular $59.99 plan, it's a Unity plan and they start at $59.99.

I don't think they're worth the price. You lose any FAN discounts and you don't even get a combined billing discount even though it's required to be on one of those plans. Customers can save a lot more money by being on the Nation plans.

Ralph and JJGreene, where are you from? Are you from AT&T markets? In the South, there are many people with old-school ideas such as a home phone being the best thing to have in an emergency. Also, when you call a small business, they probably have AT&T local service.

If I worked for one of these businesses as a manager, I could call the store to check up on them without using my minutes.

Have a little imagination or else you're not being all that you can be as a salesman.

I'm in Dallas.

I'm gonna stick to it. Cost wise it's not worth it yet. If you have combined billing on a regular Nation plan you're getting a discount for having that. If you change it to a Unity not only are you increasing your plan by $20, but you're losing your discount. If you have a FAN for your business, you'd lose that too. Is unlimited calling to a home phone worth that much? For some people it may be, but for most I doubt it.

I'm sure the plans will become better as we develop more and more options through combined services, but right now I don't see the value.

It works the same way for the "MyFave" crap. Sure it's usefull for some, especiall those who aren't convince about roll-over, or your not one of those people who cling to roll-over like it's worth something. But at least it's nice to have the option, i can imagen older people who get these for their families or imaginary friends (just kidding, i know it's terrible), or business owners who just use the phone for business clients (even with no FAN, they still have tax write offs).

If it was a $10 difference or a $10 add-on I would like it more. As it stands, I don't.

I can get people on plans with a whole lot more features, which allows them to do more with their devices, get them the discounts, and still cost them less than a Unity plan. They're losing the unlimited calls to AT&T home phones, but I don't see the trade off value.

Oh, and I'd forgotten about that whole no Rollover part. Thanks for reminding me.

I can't really say that Cingular/at&t were looking at what would have been more useful for the customer.

It's probably more about sellability. I think it's sellable.

It is sell-able, but it's real purpose for me is to make the other plans more sell-able. I can get them onto either one, but the Nation one can have more features for the same price.

I can pitch a plan with unlimited AT&T home calling, or a plan with Rollover, 200 messages, and Unlimited Cingular Video and internet for the same price.

🤣

Hey, it looks like they already changed the plans. I just got in my new brochures after we were supposed to destroy the old ones. The $59.99 plan now has 900 daytime minutes and the familytalk Unity plans are the same price as the familytalk Nation plans.

MUCH better now.

they were the same price here, but your also forgetting that it's not just AT&T, it's also BellSouth which is a large one in Florida

The first ones we got were way off. They wanted the customer to pay $20 more on each plan for the same number of minutes as the Nation plans gave them.

This may explain why some people thought I was crazy about them not being cost-effective.

Yeah we definitely weren't talking about the same plans just there 😛

lol, it's cool, they probably wanted to test price on different markets.

either way it hasn't sold yet (probably from lack of advertisement), most of my customer came for the roll-over, i can't really sell this to new customers, maybe upgrades though

We had them for about 3 days before we got an email saying to destroy all the brochures. They didn't say why or what was wrong with them, just to chunk them out.

Two weeks later, here come the new plans. 🤣

Whatever the reason, these are decent.
