I need a new phone. My needs are simple, I don't want/need the flashiest phone just great functionality. SQ is very important next to reception.

I'm having a very hard time finding what I consider a decent phone. My father has the CU500, it's nice enough but data entry is so-so. My wife has the C417, it's also OK but SQ is poor. My brother is using a 557. Pretty nice phone but heavy and bulky plus Moto tools is horrid software.

I'm really starting to wonder if there are any decent phones or are the phone companies just churning out crap because the masses will just keep snapping them up?

I know my thread title is a bit harsh but I think it illustrates the trend.

Aren't there any phones with:

- known excellent SQ
- known...

Ha! Nice answer.

If the W300i didn't have those horrid half moon buttons I'd get it. It is a bit thick though.

have you held the w300i? closed it is not even a quarter inch thicker than the razr and is not as wide or long. i just got mine becuase they were offering it free on the premier site and i like it. camera is not top notch, but it's vga. it's a great little phone and awesome reception... on par with 6102i, e62, 8125 and w810.

I have held it. I will have to look at it again as I remember it being quite a bit thicker than a RAZR.

My biggest gripe are the buttons. They are not "positive".

Sony w810i. Really easy to sync info and comes with cables and software but no cradle.
I have actually been really impressed with the samsung sync(a707) for sound quality and reception but not too sure on data transfer.
Nokia 6102i-its getting older but the nokia pc suite is super simple and easy to use plus the nokia gets good reception and has decent sound quality.

Yeah, I've looked at the w810i. I really prefer clams but may have to reconsider a bar.
