i work in customer care, and ive heard cingular does not have a call center in california, nor do they want one, is there any truth to this?I know by the terms of the sale our jobs in care are guaranteed through jan of 2005, but thye wont tell us anything after that, so i figured go straight to the company who's aquiring us, any employees of cingular on here can shed any light on this issue?! 🙄
sheesh i am tired of all the rumors, tell me this, WHY oh WHY would they close ANY call centers when they are doubling thier customer base? give me a LOGICAL reason why
Nothing will be closing at all for at least 6 months post merger. No need to worry right now. And if anything does close (which things will because we dont need doubles) most employee's will be moved reasonably to either another positioon or location. As far as call centers are concerned i wouldnt be worried, with such a huge customer base post merger i doubt those will close.
Correct the job losses will mostly be that of management not connected to the retail chain, if you work at a call center or retail location i wouldnt even worry. the only retail stores that will close are the ones that are right next to cingular stores, and in some cases may stay open depending on traffic in the locations.
exactly, i mean i can understand people fearing losing their job, but if people would think about it logically there is no way that cingular would just close all ATTWS call centers, it just wont happen 😎
Cingular Wireless as a company is on a hiring freeze right now except for places that REALLY need employee's, the rest will work itself out. with such a large customer base we need more call centers the hold times are already higher then cingular wants them to be, once we are finished post merger that problem will be solved.
exactly, we all know that call centers ideally want no hold time, so why would they LAY OFF care reps? they wouldnt, to achieve their goal they want employees, xystence, being that you are a cingular rep, let me ask your opinion on this, do you think the pay scales will change post merger?
