I've had Cingular for one week now...

And so far everything is great. 🙂 I've had Verizon for the past several years so I'm used to having a good signal pretty-much everywhere. I was a little worried that I might regret switching to Cingular. But if this past week is typical of what I can expect, I'm going to regret that I didn't do it sooner.

Of course, a big part of why I am so happy is the phone I chose to get. I got the Sony Ericsson w300i and it is amazing! I really don't understand why this phone isn't mentioned/talked about/recommended more. It's loaded with features and everything works perfectly. The call quality, reception, bluetooth, UI, and battery life are the best I've ever experienced. And while I don't mess with it much myself, my son says the MP3 p...

Wow, thanks Matt.

It's pretty hard to find a genuine solid good-natured post on here. Glad you are happy. Let us know if there's anything else we can do to help.

Thanks guys. It really has been a nice move so far. Like I said above, I got an awesome phone and the service seems great. The only strange thing I have noticed is that on a few of my calls it starts out sounding garbled. But it only ever lasts for the first few seconds (while the other person's phone is ringing). By the time they answer, everything has cleared up and it sounds perfect. No biggie.

Happens with some Sonys I think. My Z520 and S710a do the same thing every once in a while.

I don't know if it is some phones, but I used to get that too with my RAZR. I don't notice it with my new phone. But yeah, once the person answers it is clear.

I also notice that when I call another Cingular subscriber, the ringing gets louder than say a land line.

I like Cingular as well. Good luck.

Well, I did the same thing. After 9 years with VZW I bolted with trepidation to Cingular. Move was mostly because I travel frequently oversees and need a world smartphone. Here in NYC tri-state a lot of people I know curse Cingular for coverage "holes" and bad service in genreal. Consumer Reports also seems to hate Cingular at least judging by the results of their user survey where in almost every market Cingular was fighting for the last spot with Sprint/Nextel.

I have my Blackjack for only 2 weeks now but so far I had no problems at all whether it's coverage, service, buying exprience, etc. At least on my everyday routine between Midtown Manhattan office and Jersey home Cingular amazingly has even better coverage in some respects compar...

LOL...yeah, it's good "peace of mind" knowing I have that option, but I really don't think I'll need it. It's a week and a half now and I'm still very happy.
