v3xx converting SMS into MMS?!
Okay, so after having this phone for almost two weeks I couldn't have been more happy...until today.
Is anybody else having problems with this phone converting all SMS messages into MMS messages? Despite the length of the text--it could be 10 characters or 250--the phone automatically converts the message into an MMS before it is sent.
This hasn't happened for nearly two weeks and all of a sudden it changed. I triple and quadruple checked the settings and everything is as it should be.
Needless to say, I'm very annoyed and would love it if anybody could help me out. Thanks!

Are you replying to an MMS? When I had motorola I use to hate this. I would send a pic to my sister and then she would reply to it (text only) and I would get the text message as an MMS. Same thing would happen if I replied to an MMS with a text message.

No, I'm not even replying to a message when it happens. I go to the messaging menu and select "create message" which by default is always set to be an SMS message unless otherwise specified. I can type the entire message out as an SMS message (it counts out the characters and everything) but as soon as I hit "sent to" it converts it into an MMS message and measures the size in kilobits. There is absolutely no way that it will let me send out an SMS message, no matter what I try.
The thing that baffles me the most is that it worked as it should for the first week and a half, and all of a sudden this strange occurrence began happening and hasn't changed since.
I'm lost for what to do. I believe I'm exchanging it for a new one first thin...

ya that is weird I would be calling up tech support or exchanging that thing with a quickness!!

Well I mean, I can't even blame Motorola for this one. I searched the issue online and of all the reviews/comments about the phone I found only one other person that had the same problem.
With the exception of this glitch (which can easily be fixed with a OTA update) this phone is amazing!!!

hey why not try resetting the phone under initial set-up in your settings menu?
