BlueTooth - Windows OS?

overdriven

Sep 21, 2004, 2:34 PM
Looking for information on a Phone that has windows OS on it and bluetooth...

I was looking at the Moto. v710 for verizion but apparently the bluetooth is crippled. is there any hope of having one (a phone with bluetooth) that is not crippled?

I would like to sync with Outlook.
I would like to use it to get online or be the middle man to the internet for my Laptop.

I would also like to send myself notes/reminders with it.

I would stay away from the MPx220, it has issues of a different sort with bluetooth...

Currently (and I have yet to see otherwise), the voice dialing for this phone does NOT work with a bluetooth headset...

IMHO you are just trading one crippled feature (V710 no file transfer via bluetooth) for another crippled feature (MPx220 no voice dialing thru a bluetooth headset).

If you want a phone with full bluetooth functionality, the Moto V551 might be a good choice. Another might be the Nokia 6255i or the Panasonic X700.

The Moto RAZR V3 has the potential to be a truly great phone IF the phone supports full bluetooth functionality including voice dialing via a bluetooth headset, file transfer, etc. Currently, there is some de...

OOPS! Major addendum to what I wrote above... Some of those phones I wrote about don't have Windows SmartPhone OS, only the MPx220 does. Ignore the others, my bad.

As far as phones that have both Windows SmartPhone OS and bluetooth - using the PhoneScoop phone finder - in addition to the Moto MPx220 I came up with:

Audiovox SMT 5600 / SPV C500 (HTC Typhoon)

HTC Voyager / SPV E200 / XPhone

Motorola MPx100

HTC SDA

Hope that helps.

Cheers,
