Text messaging problems

I am In southwest Riverside county where the 909/951 area code split happened and now that my number is a 951 I no longer receive text messages from anyone who does not have Cingular!! 👿 Most of the people that text me have Verizon. I have been on the phone with Cingular for the past couple of weeks and they have been playing the blame game. Cingular says that Verizon need to "load my number in their database" and I will be able to receive them. So I called Verizon and they also played the blame game and said that it is all on Cingular's end. 🙄 I have been going back and forth with both companies and have spoken with both tech support teams. No one to this day has given me a solid answer. Anyone know what could be causing this to ...

it's on no one's end.... often times if you are in a different area code, you must use a 1 and the entire number to send a text. My wife had a sprint phone and we had to dial a 1 and the whole number to send an sms. Not sure if that's your problem, but it might work.

Also, try this.

Check the "message center" number in your sms(text) settings. Call customer care if you're not sure of the correct number.
Call Cingular and ask them if your text package is "grandfathered" or if it's a newer code. Many text messaging feature codes have been upgraded recently and your feature code may just need to be reset.
The VZW thing may or may not be true. I know for a fact that many Verizon payphones will not call a Tmobile or Cingular cell phone...
