Contract expiration and processing time
My current contract with AT&T is expiring tomorrow, 24th at midnight. I would like to sign with Cingular on-line the same day to take advantage of the free LG 1400 promo. I know it takes some time to process the order esspecially if I want to transfer my number from AT&T. So my question is what would be the starting date of my new contract, 24th or later? Will I be penalized by AT&T for breaking contract in this case?

I'd make the order about 20 minutes til midnight on Cingular.com ... you should be safe because the porting process will take a few hours. Maybe longer because of the time of night. The ATTWS account probably won't cancel until after midnight...
