QUESTION FOR REP/ ANY KNOWLEDGABLE PERSON

so my friend (on cingular) and some of her freinds (also on cingular) have been getting calls from a withheld number where some pervert says some REALLY disgusting, horibble things to them. I currently work for vz so i am not of much use to them and was wondering if any cingular rep could help me understand what, if anything, someone could do to figure out a number that is being withheld.

also..

i did call cust care and the cingular agent line (im a seasonal cingular agent at a best buy) and got run around the loop with them so any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

thanks so much

If the number is blocked (private) customer care will not be able to get the number for you. The best course of action would be either 1: change the number, or 2: to file a complaint with your local law enforcement. If you get someone who actually cares, they can file a subpoena for information, and Cingular has a subpoena compliance department that can attempt to find the information (number) that is needed and law enforcement can follow up from there.

No easy solutions, sorry, but customer care does not have the ability to get information on blocked numbers.

that is correct, also on some phones like the v3xx, you can block every number that is not in your address book with that phone.

Customer service has no way to block your phone from recieving calls from blocked numbers. Some phones have the built in capability to only recieve calls from people in their address book, or from people in certain "groups." The problem with those features is that if someone tries to call you whom you wish to speak with, if they call from a different phone/number other than the pre-programmed one on your phone they will not get through.
