Rate Plans Question

So I am looking at upgrading my Nokia 6340i to a 6620. At the store I was told that I would be required to get a new service plan as the one I currently have would not work on the new GSM ONLY phone... I thought because the phone I have now does GSM that I would not have to change plans. Sure sounds fishy to me..

I really do not want to change plans as the one I have now is good enough for me: First Min free, 150 min, Local to any state wide number air time only, no roaming charge anywhere in State of Texas. all this for $25. I think once in the last 5 years I used over 130 min.

If you're on a GAIT plan with your GAIT phone you cannot keep that plan when migrating to a GSM phone. Why would you want to? They offer less minutes for more money. Get on a new GSM nation plan. they offer better value than any plan we've offered previously.

Yes, you are on a very old plan, one I had to call in and check on. Now, you can put your new 6620 on this plan since it is not a Gait plan. If your plan works for you, why change it? Cingular will support TDMA for a little while, but eventually you will have to change.

Cain does bring up a good point that our GSM Nation plans offer a lot of bang for the buck. Then again the choice is yours. You can always add a GSM phone on a Digital plan, but you can not put a TDMA phone on a GSM plan. Have a good day.
