Cingular in NYC

I have a few questions regarding Cingular. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

1. I am currently a T-mobile subscriber and planning to change over to Cingular. Anyone know how the service is in manhattan and surrounding boros?

2. I recall about 2-3 yrs ago when i flew out to vegas and my t-mobile phone seemlessly switched over to Cingular's network. Will I experience the same switchover to ATT Wireless when I am in an area where ATT Wireless is present but Cingular is not?

3. I read somewhere that some European phones will not work on Cingular's network but will work on T-mobile. Something related to the frequency...what frequency is used in the NYC?

Thanks

they did mess up in the begining of GSM using 1900 (and keeping 850 for TDMA only) but now they are using all the new GSM towers plus most of the bandwith on the old towers for GSM 850, (and this just happened over the past 6-8 months)
and a lot people still have 1900 only phones, so that could be why you are hearing complaints..

(and besides after the merger, you will be able to use both networks..)

i like this conversation i used to go to yeshiva in boro park and i have cingular but i roamed on the t-mobile network i was able to make calls in my basement but att 850 customers cant but hay they pushed of the merger from october 1st to november 1st after that all should be fine!!! the reason why most europe phones dont work here is verry simple there are 4 gsm bands 850 used by att cingular 900 used in europe 1800 israel urope and 1900 used by t-mobile cingular att the standard tri band phone comes with 900 1800 1900 in america they subsitute 900 for 850 which means a europe phone wont work here cause it has 900 not 850! i sell israel prepaid servise phones and rentals as low as 13 cents to the us so i know my bussiness you can contact m...
