Cingular in NYC
1. I am currently a T-mobile subscriber and planning to change over to Cingular. Anyone know how the service is in manhattan and surrounding boros?
2. I recall about 2-3 yrs ago when i flew out to vegas and my t-mobile phone seemlessly switched over to Cingular's network. Will I experience the same switchover to ATT Wireless when I am in an area where ATT Wireless is present but Cingular is not?
3. I read somewhere that some European phones will not work on Cingular's network but will work on T-mobile. Something related to the frequency...what frequency is used in the NYC?
Thanks

they did mess up in the begining of GSM using 1900 (and keeping 850 for TDMA only) but now they are using all the new GSM towers plus most of the bandwith on the old towers for GSM 850, (and this just happened over the past 6-8 months)
and a lot people still have 1900 only phones, so that could be why you are hearing complaints..
(and besides after the merger, you will be able to use both networks..)
