Question about Cingular Service.

I had a pre-paid Go-Phone under Cingular, and the service I got was horrible. I live in the Owings Mills area of Maryland. I swithed over to Nextel, thanks to my parents, and things got a lot better. However, I hear that there is a difference between Cingular Plan service and Cingular Prepaid Service. Is this true?
I also hear that some phones get better service than others. Is this also true?
...
yea you wont get the full advantage of the network when you have a prepaid account and the phones do make a little difference
...
The prepaid network is barely half of the postpaid network. That is true with any carrier. As far as devices, it shouldn't be true but it is. Generally, the more expensive, the better the signal. And we just found out the LG CU500 can take an external antenna.
...
please explain your comment about the cu500
...
External Antenna? Well you plug it into the phone and receive better signal in a low signal area.
...
where do you get it? and i guess it plugs in the charging port?
...
Where, I'm not sure yet. Our store is checking availability with our supplier. As far as plugging it in you remove the piece of rubber from the back of the phone above the battery.
...
i dont think an external port would help with prepaid that much
...
Yes.. Nokias/SEs have generally great reception for Cingular..
I have been in and around Owings Mills with my cingular service and when I had one of my nokias there was never an issue.
