I HAVE RECENTLY APPLIED AND INTERVIEWED FOR A RETAIL SALES CONSULTANT W/ CINGULAR. THERE WAS A LOT OF INFOMATION GIVEN TO ME IN THE INTERVIEW, AND I ASKED SEVERAL QUESTIONS. HOWEVER, THERE ARE A FEW QUESTIONS THAT I COULD NOT THINK OF WHEN I WAS INTERVIEWING. I WAS HOPING SOME OF YOU WONDERFUL PEOPLE COULD GIVE ME SOME ANSWERS! HERE GOES............... 1) I WAS INFORMED THAT CINGULAR EMPLOYEES ARE UNION, BUT I DID NOT ASK WHAT THE UNION DUES ARE AND HOW OFTEN ARE THEY PAID. 2) IT WAS ALSO EXPLAINED THE JOB IS PRETTY MUCH BASED ON COMMISSION. IN REGARDS TO THIS, HOW OFTEN DO YOU GET PAID, AND HOW HARD IS IT TO MEET YOUR MONTHLY GOALS. ANY FEED BACK WOULD BE MUCH APPRICIATED! 🙂

to be honest i dont even know what the union dues are. they just come out of my check ...lol

Your Union dues are a percentage of your base pay...something like 5% or 10%...for me it comes out to be a bout $30 a month.

Meeting quota has a lot to do with location and foot traffic and your sales ability...people don't really like to come into a cellular store...we're compared to going to the dentist. and you have to meet 70% of your activations quota to keep your job.

Have you ever had any issues meeting your quota? Is the pay strictly comission or is ther some sort of hourly rate?

never had a problem meeting quota. like i said, they are very attainable. the other post related cell phone stores to dentist offices. that brings up my original point - if you try to make sure your customers DO NOT think of cell phone stores like dentist offices, they will come back, and bring friends. and family. and co-workers. and so on.
