Old phones & batteries

I have 3 old Nokia 5185's that I want to keep (personal reasons).

1) Do I just store them with the batteries attached, or do I need to remove them?

2) Do I need to charge them up from time-to-time?

They were with another carrier and even though they have been disconnected, the carrier's name shows up when you turn them on, all of my info is intact, etc.

If you really want to keep them around for personal reasons, I suggest you mount them in a case so you can hang it on the wall and glance at them from time to time and remember. It's quite easy to take just one AC adaptor and add plugs to it, so you can even leave all three plugged in at once!! That way they'll always be on to display your old carrier's name. If you want easy access to the phones, I suggest a sliding plexi-glass top. Doing this would make your phones enjoyable to everyone for years to come.

Well, I don't really want to look at them 🙂, and don't want to remember the bad experience with my previous carrier 🤣 .

Just want to keep all the info intact on the phones 😁. I know this sounds strange, but I have my reasons.

So, I DO need to keep them charged up?

Yeah... if they're old batteries they have to stay "conditioned" because they have a memory on them or something. If you don't want to deal with the batteries you can actually just hook up the ac/dc converter directly to the phone and it will power on, you'll just have to sauder or connect the wires to the battery prongs on the back of the phone. Sounds scary, but it's only a mild shock.. (3.6 volts) I've actually done this to charge up batteries in a pinch. It'd probably be a WHOLE lot easier just to write it down somewhere though... =o/

no, leave the battereies off the phone, just charge them 1 time every week to keep the condition. those batteries are not lithium-ion so, they will go premently dead soon or later.
