normally my wife pay per Text use. but recently she has find herself using a little more so I decided to upgrade the feature and now paying $5 for 200 text a month. (All this was done on the Cingular site - dont like talking to customer service) Last night when I was charging her phone, I noticed one of the little symbol is missing. I believe its the GPRS (located on the upper left). I text her phone last night.. and even replied back w/o any problem. my question is, does it matter if the symbol is missing? she doesnt use the MediaNet... and even if she does, i think she only went in there once or twice. I know that symbol is normally there, i just dont know if it gone after i upgraded the text thing. I do know that eve...

It basically means that the phone is not picking up a GPRS signal. If your wife is in the same area that she was before when she did have the icon on the phone, then the system probably deleted the internet feature off of her account when you switched the packages. If you wife wishes to send/recieve mms (picture and video messages) then you will need to have the internet re-provisioned on her line. A simple call to customer service (I know you don't like to ☹️ ) can fix the issue. If she doesn't send/recieve mms, and doesn't care about using the internet to access media net and download ringtones/games, then don't worry about it. Hope that helps you out!

ah ok. ya, she doesnt use MMS at all... and she hardly download games/ringtones unless she is VERY bored on the commute train. i think having the internet access turned off might be better since once in a while she would accidentally press the Globe button.

thx for the info... now just have to let her know so she is aware of it.
