Ok, an ATTWS GSm subscriber is out of contract. ATTWS does not have a gsm to gsm upgrase program for Dealers right now. Cingular does. I know thye will not be a new subscriber to Cingular, as Cingular will essential own and control ATTWS during the transition. So, I doubt they will pay for a new subsciber from a company they just bought. My thought is will they now meet Cingular gsm to gsm upgrade criteria? Any ideas. I have heard rumors that we "dealers selling attws who will now be selling cingular" will have access to both systems via posdotcom (cingualr's web based dealer activation system). Sorry to be long winded.

You bring up a good question, that I had not thought of. Logic would tell me that agents would be paid for an upgrade versus a new sale. Guess we should all push for the ATT customer to port their number, pre-merger!! I have had a significant increase in ATT ports over the past two months. Now, if an agent gets paid new activation commision on a port, although it is an existing number, I would then think that all the migrating ATT customers post-merger would be a new activation. I guess we will find out during merger training.

I'm hopin it'll be counted as a new line, but if not, at least we still get paid for upgrades.
