Cingular doesn't sell landline phones, and even those can drop a call during a storm. There is no phone, period, that will not drop a call.

In regards to RF... I would say t637, v400 and Nokia 6620.

agreed, my v400 has never dropped a call, and while I had the t637 (only two weeks) it did not drop any calls.

Maybe on 850mhz, but in NC the v400 is garbage. carry a higher end nokia. my v400 never works and it's my fourth! 6230, 6200, 6620, those are your best bets.

are you sure? Everyone in my store but me carries a v400 and have no problems with them. I'm in Greensboro by the way. I'm either holdin out for the A630 or tryin to grab a t637 from one of our stores in Raleigh since we don't have it here.

Oh, and are you sayin that there's no 850mHz in NC? 😕

a630 is garbage in RF.. I have 2 of those with the latest software update.. I would put it right there with the t616 in RF.

I'm mainly interested in it for the fact that it has BT, camera, keyboard, speakerphone, and Mp3 tones all in one package. I also like the fairly unique form factor. But I've got a BT headset so the speakerphone's just a luxury in case I forget to bring it w/me. As for the Mp3 tones, I can live without them, but they're nice. I'm still leaning towards the t637 because of the $$. The a630's listing as pretty high without a contract (which is generally the price we have to pay for them here).

Nothing, and I mean nothing holds a GSM signal for any carrier better than a Nokia. Period. Take your pick.

Surprisingly, the Siemens C61 is incredible. Also, the NGage is great, but not worth carrying around with you. I'm using a V400 and it's more than reasonable, but I would agree Nokia has the better antenna. Don't get an SE or an LG. Even some Samsungs are marginal. Stay away from a low end Motorola. Any Nokia is good, and any expensive phone is good. Spend lots of money, and you will get good reception.

Actually I have the SE T637 and have never dropped a call and always have a signal way down here in south Mississippi. That's something that no nokia or motorola I've had has been able to do... I would say the SE phones Cingular has right now are two of the best... but T637 best reception I've ever had... and I go through a phone every 3 or 4 months... I have the x427 on my other line and it's decent, but no where near the SE... the 6230 is pretty damn good too...
