Verizon is the anti Christ, and they do stuff!!!
I have question, can you get away with using Media Max on your PDA instead of having to get the PDA data plan?
Your input is appreciated.

He is correct, the chances that they will catch you aren't very high. They do sweep accounts for abnormal data transfers and red flag them for further review. While the majority of users don't get nailed for what you are asking, it has happened before and its safe to say it will happen again. Give it a try, but if you get caught, suck it up, don't complain and pay the honest price.
It comes down to this: while it's possible, you may have to get someone to set it up for you, which is something they shouldn't do. If you straight up ask, they may tell you it can't be done.
I go between an LG and a Blackberry, and I use the Blackberry connect on there for both.
