Actually that thread was to get your attention...

I have question, can you get away with using Media Max on your PDA instead of having to get the PDA data plan?

Your input is appreciated.

what's more off-the-wall? My user name or calling Verizon the Anti-Christ?

👿

Seriously, it is possible to do what you are asking, but theres a good chance they will catch it and remove it

He is correct, the chances that they will catch you aren't very high. They do sweep accounts for abnormal data transfers and red flag them for further review. While the majority of users don't get nailed for what you are asking, it has happened before and its safe to say it will happen again. Give it a try, but if you get caught, suck it up, don't complain and pay the honest price.

So you ask a question, someone answers it, and you don't like the answer so you want a second opinion? Get over, take the plan like you're supposed to. That simple.

Yeah that was kind of a joke dude, like second opinion when you go to the doctor...sorry that simple joke flew over your head so quickly, I will try to dumb it down a little more next time.

It's technically possible, and lots of folks have done it, but it's not supposed to happen. Cingular policy states that QWERTY devices that can access corporate email servers and/or HTML web must be on PDA Connect. Of course, many people have managed to get away.

It comes down to this: while it's possible, you may have to get someone to set it up for you, which is something they shouldn't do. If you straight up ask, they may tell you it can't be done.

Yes, and even if you do get it provisioned, when RA runs a sweep and catches you don't come crying to phonescoop when you're stuck with a $1,000 bill . You made the choice to try to play the system, pay the consequences.

Ok well see here is the deal, i have a samsung synch and a 8525, and should i just use the PDA connect and then just don't use the browser on the Synch?

If you use get the PDA connect, you can still use internet on your SYNC. You can have a higher package on a lower phone, but not a lower package on a higher phone.

I go between an LG and a Blackberry, and I use the Blackberry connect on there for both.

don't register the 8525 with cingular and as long as you put the sim back and forth between both devices and aren't using the 8525 more than the average user uses 3G data (which with all the people saying they see it where a pda on the wrong plan is being overcharged is wrong and usually it's the customer trying to get over by switching plans a lot) it won't be an issue. a customer that has a 3G device watching a boat load of bad american idol auditions isn't that much more or less than someone accessing email or myspace on an 8525. i u...

Except it's not working for me now. I don't know what the f**k happened, but now it won't work. I called tech and they don't know.

I'm looking for alternatives now. I remember seeing something in the T-Mobile forum a couple months ago so I'm looking right now.
