Since the merger I have steadily watched agent locations in my area get the "30 day letter". In the last 2 weeks alone I have witnessed the closing of 5 agents in my market. This isn't just the "bottom feeders" as they were referred by districts and regionals, they are now taking the top of the list too. I asked my district rep that was here 10 minutes ago how they can close "in touch wireless" since they had a constant mrc of greater than $65, fetaures over $18 and a ton of activations each month and her response to me was "they are taking too much away from our cor location in the area."
Now I am worried as all of my stores are above what they ask for and we just barely trailed in touch. I think its b.s. that they are doing this especia...

Our nearest COR store is an hour away in a big city. I should hope they wouldn't worry about little old TelCom although our sales **** all over the COR stores.

We are by far #1 in the market for agents and are being told by C/ATT to expand into other markets.

There could have been issues that are unknown, contract up, fraud issues, etc. They also may have sold alternate products and weren't eligible for an ATT sign.

Is it 5 different agents or multiple stores for one agent?

Well the inevitable has happened. Today I received the generic 30 days and you are out letter for all of my stores. Bellsouth Mobility to Cingular to at&t and out the door. Its not the fact that I have invested alot of years to be excluded from their "3 year plan", it is the way they get rid of you, barely a paragraph on a piece of paper sent certified mail. I think it's too bad that they want to do away with indirects, since we are constantly told how we are so much "nicer" and provide "better service" than the cor store. It is also a shame that you are not safe as an indirect for this company no matter what your numbers are. I am happy however that they just recently put up my new lighted sign on the front of the building, it has been take...

So you were the owner? Could you give us a few more details?

What part of the country? How many stores you had?

This happened to several agent locations near me as well. They all got the letter. They prepared themselves for it though.

They're all T-Mobile stores now.

I would start looking around when my neighbors started getting the letters just as a CYA thing.

If that did that to the stores I work for we'd probably end up selling Sprint. We already have an agent license with them.

Terry,

What market are you in? I have heard of no such thing here in Texas. Not to say it will not happen.
