In the last few days, I have overheard two calls where customers wanted magical solutions. Here is a desciption of both.

C1 - Customer #1
C2 - Customer #2
R - Rep

C1 - I need to return my phone.

R - It is within the 30 days exchange period. You can either take it to a store or we can ship out return labels. Which would you prefer?

C1 - I don't have anywhere you could send them and I don't want to go to the store.

R - Do you have a PO box or a home address?

C1 - No.

R - I can tell you the location of the nearest store.

C1 - I don't want to go to the store.

C2 - I want to change my plan.

I always have to laugh, when I am in the cell phone store and people are complaing about the huge phone bill, whell if you talk on it 7/24 what the hell do you think, if you can not afford it get a cricket phone, oh I am sorry it don't work everywhere, whell be like everyone else and get a job, and pay your bills!

I agree except I think prepaid phones should be banned or have restrictions. Prepaid phones for the most part are a rip off. People say that they just got it for emergencies, but then they end up refilling it every other day. It is just cheaper to get the highest postpaid plan and pay the highest deposit amount and possible termination fees than it is to get a prepaid. I think there should be a limit on prepaid service. If you put more than $100 on you prepaid phone per month you should have to either get a postpaid phone or have your prepaid phone cancelled. But as long as the companies are making money, they don't care.

some customers will be more comfortable with pre-paid regardless of how much more they are paying

Also, you don't want drug-dealers, terrorists or cell-bomb makers having to deal with ETFs, do you?
