Transfer of service

So my boyfriend & I are breaking up & he is moving back to Miami. Right now we have a family plan. We want to do a transfer of service for his line so he can keep his service & so I dont get stuck with a huge bill. He is listed on his line as the user. He has been listed on the bill since '06- specifically shows his name on his line. He has kinda crappy credit. Just wanna know if they are gonna make him go through a credit check & put down a deposit. Or if they will just change the service into his name, since he has been using the line for so long. Any help would be great, THANKS!

It's going to be based on his credit. If he is approved for at least one line, I am sure that Cingular(at&t) can do what we call a supercedure. That is where the phone number is transfered to someone elses name. Overall, he will have to have enough credit to get one line of service.
