Question about Nokia 5190 + current plans

My gf got a hardly used Nokia 5190 from her mother, and also said it has an analog module with it. She was wondering if it's possible to use this phone and get on any of the company's current plans.

If it can be done, what are some of the things she should be aware of with customer service to make this happen, or are there any tricks/curve balls to this :-)

Thanks...

we are not supposed to be activating new TDMA accounts. key word - supposed. if you get someone at the store who is hard up for sales, they may do it. your best bet is go to the store near the end of the month 😉

I'd checked this phone out on nokia.com when she got it, and it says it's a "GSM 1900" phone and that the analog part is a "plus module". Hmm, if I used the words plus module, I'd be thinking "big behind" but maybe that's why I'm not in marketing :-)

I know it looks just like an old phone my mom used to have with Cingular that was probably TDMA, though. I think hers was maybe a 5120 or something like that. Don't know how you guys keep up with all these phone models...

You could go get it activated right now, but the coverage might not be a big since its only 1900.
