Instant Messenger and Speakerphone

I just got a new Nokia 6230 and am having trouble with the IM client. When signing in it gives me an error message saying, "Service time-out." Though, I can get signed in through a different screen name. However, when sending IMs, they just show up as blank messages on the other person's screen. Curiously, the email client doesn't work either. Maybe it's a phone problem and not network based?
Also, I noticed that suddenly the speaker phone is much quieter than it used to be. Can you blow out the speaker or maybe something internal broke?
Any help would be amazing. Thank you.

I would suggest calling in to a CSR for your area and ensuring that the network is up 100% and there are no problems in your area. Next you said you got a new 6230, yet you noticed the speaker phone is much quiter than it used to be? How long have you had the phone? Have you dropped it? have you left it in either extreme heat or cold? Have you spilled anything on it? Again check with a CSR when you call in and see if there is a known issue.
We are always more than willing to help 🙂

I called CS a few times and both times after asking a tech, they told me to call AOL who in turn said it should be in Cingular's court. They checked the network and it worked fine (in two different states), in fact I could use wireless interent.
I've had the phone for about 7 days and have treated it royally. No dropping, spilling, extreme weather. I asked CS about this, and they couldn't really say much. They suggested waiting a few days then taking advantage of buyer's remorse.
So I'm hoping you guys on phone scoop can do them one better. Thanks again.
