iPhone and Agents
Have any agents actually been contacted by Apple and been given the go ahead to carry the iPhone?
We were given a number to call but nothing back yet. They state thay are in "high level negotiations" but won't tell us anything else.

I have no idea. I work for an agent that has 80+ stores in utah and co and we are a major distributor for them in the region. We also own a chain of Mac stores that sell apple products. I imagine us being an ideal agent candidate to sell the iphone.

Sounds like you would certainly be one of the best. I cannot believe they are willing to wait until the last minute on this deal.

We're not taking names for it at all. Last I heard was no agent were getting it, only COR stores and Apple dealers.

From what the moles tell me, COR isn't even stocking this phone on site. They will have a couple demo models and that's it. Orders will be placed and shipped within 24 hours. The only actually place you can get one cash and carry will be Apple stores.

That "returned phone call" from the 3rd party secretary was to confirm that I was still interested. No lady I am not sure I want to carry your overpriced, glitchy handset. I asked her about accessories like the ileather case, icar charger, imemory card, and igel skins.

No third party vendors, regardless of how they position it to you, will ever distribute this phone (unless of course it turns out to be the next Segway, which I think it will)

I do not believe that is 100% true. Apple put out feelers to see if dealers were interested in carrying this product. They are yet to return calls with any serious information as Will stated but they seem to be considering the option.

To clarify, I didn't mean agents when I said third party vendors. I was referring to the actual distribution of the the product to the agent/retailer. Meaning it won't be available through a buying group or any other distributor, just the OEM.
However, based on the rumor that COR won't even actually have the phone, I don't see how agents or national retail will get it. (at least in the beginning)
I do hope I am wrong, though.

who ever said we went stocking it on site is getting info from a non credible source
