The Samsung SYNC has to have the worst reception ever
It does, I have been told because the ant is at the bottom of the phone? If that is true, does it make that big of a diff? and if so, why the hell do that?
also, is there anything i can do other than throw it away or take it back, those are not options.

I don't like to lug it around every where, and lately I have been doing some traveling, mainly for pleasure, and haven't needed to take it with me, this weekend was a blur, plus i don't want to drop it when i am drinking with buddies.

my wife has had that phone since dec. and not a single problem and she works at an army base where reception isn't the greates in the hospitol or the airfield and that phone picks up where most don't.

Well the phone says not to obstruct the bottom part of it, as it may cause reception issues...kinda funny imo

thats exactly why i think its funny. if you can find a comfortable way to hold it where u dont obstruct the bottom thats what i would attempt

i have never had a problem selling this phone and rarely returned .... atleast never for reception issues

and the SYNC
The SYNC is the only one that doesn't get decent reception, or any reception. The others get perfect reception.

Well see that is what I am trying to find out, but I wanted to hear from other people if they had any tips, you know before I go and scream at a Cingular employee, for kicks.

you mite wanna get it tested at a store, but try putting it in GSM mode before you do that and see if you get better reception, ur 3g coverage is probably spotty, but does ur phone say E for edge on it or 3g?, if you dont use cingular video, then putting it in gsm mode might improve reception, then again its a samsung, and i have a samsung myself and reception is like playing russian roulette.

Yeah it shows the E for edge but that cuts out, as in the signal all together, its like a blinking light with the E popping up for a second and then disappearing.

I have the SYNC and thought it was perfect for reception till I went to one friends house. Everyone else had reception but me (they had a rang of phones including other samsungs) I've only had problems that one place so I don't mind.

The prob is I don't get it in mine, which sucks becuase I get it with my V3xx and my 8525, and i like the sync except for reception.

I think most ants are at the bottom of flip phones. I know the v3xx is at the lip (bottom). Is this what you mean by "at the bottom" of the phone?

you can do 3 warranty replacements. when you get your third request a diff manufacturer.
