Cingular Insurance

What's with all the bad talking on Cingular's insurance? I have had very few issues in the past 5 years of my wireless sales experience. Now, I know at one point we required a police report for a stolen phone, but I haven't had an Asurion rep request that or give a customer trouble about their claim.

In that five years, I also worked as a regional sales rep for a wireless supply chain provider (ie, selling handsets to dealers, carriers, MVNOs, handset protection, etc.) and I know a refurb phone really works just as good, if not better, than a new handset.

Just want to know what's up with everyone and bashing the insurance.

Thanks for everyone's input. I do agree about not covering pdas but they are expensive equipment. My store uses a third party insurance for pdas and we're working on offering more for handsets. What I like about it is that the customer can pick up a new phone in my store. It doesn't help for travelers since they can only replace it here, but it's still a great solution.
