same thing i did after i got my smartphone last year. cancel it after a month. worked for me and every person i work with on base. it's not in the contract that you have to keep that data plan, you only have it initially. a company can't tell you have to keep extra services from the base of the contracted service. it's a damn marketing ploy for you to enjoy it want to keep it and pay for it over and over.

You don't even have to get the feature when you sign up, but you do need it for the rebates at to have internet access.
