Question about Data Plans
Is there any blackberry/Treo type phone that they have, That i would not have to pay the $30-40 for a data plan? I just got rid of my blackberry 7130 cause i didnt feel the need to pay $30 extra to get picture messages..i was just curious if there is a phone with a Querty keyboard without the data plan prices.

you can get any PDA w/o a data plan, ou will just have to forfeit any mail in rebates that may otherwise be available

cingular (htc) 8525 has wifi...if you usually have wifi access you might want to go with that phone so you can use your own internet connection instead of getting charged for using cingulars.

After re-reading what I wrote, i should have been a bit more clearer. When i had my blackberry, I found it easier to use for texting, obviously. But, even to receive the minimal picture messages i got, i was told and i knew that I needed a blackbery plan. I did not need to retrieve my email anymore from the phone, but like i said found it easier to text on the keyboard. Is there a phone similiar to The Treo that AT&T has that I can have a QUerty keyboard, AND recieve picture messages with ease, without having a data plan? Like most, I didnt feel it was needed and logical to pay $30 extra a month to get picture messages.

You could use the pay per use internet on any phone and just have a regular texting package. picture messages don't use much.

right... get a PDA and use a regular texting plan for your texts and keep PPU internet. In fact, if you get the BlackJack and the Unlimited $19.99 texting package you'll still get your Mail-In rebate.

the blackjack is the crappiest most unreliable new pda phone that at&t has came out with recently (not the worst ever...just lately).
