Insurance question

How long can you make an insurance claim after it is added to your accoung? Secondly, the $50 deductable; Do you pay for that by credit card before the unit is shipped, or does it appear on you AT&T bill?

i believe you can add it too your bill (might be wrong, but pretty sure im right).


not quite sure what your first question was....but there is a time frame in which you must report damages, if you damage your phone and report it half a year later they wont cover it....i believe you have to report somthing within 30-60 days (im not sure of the specific time frame)

and i think you can report a damaged phone right after you add insurance on the account.

another quick question, when you do a claim do they look at the date insurace was added?

Yes, they do. In fact, depending on how close to when insurance was added you make a claim, they will often require that you sign an affidavit (not sure if they require a notary or not, someone will hopefully be able to enlighten us) swearing that the date of loss came after you added the insurance policy.

Coverage begins the second you tell the rep to add the feature, so even if you buy a phone, add insurance, and leave said phone on the roof of your car as you drive away from the store, (I have smart customers), you are covered. They just worry about fraud, so they will make you go through an ex...
