cingular lg phone not working properly
On 10/26, Cingular merged with AT&T Wireless. I have a Cingular LG phone, and as of 10/31 (the day after we switched the clocks), I have been unable to place or receive calls 95% of the time. I live in an area where there is usually limited cell phone signal to begin with, but I don't believe that has anything to do with my problem because most of the time I have a full signal and I still can't use my phone. What happens is that as soon as I place a call the phone beeps at me (an error-like beep) and says "Call ended". Sometimes I can use it and it never drops calls, I just have a problem connecting. I will get voice mails out of nowhere and 3 or 4 at a time. I called Cingular twice. The first time (from a payphone) the guy said that somehow...

Which LG phone do you have? Have you tried to hardshock the phone? (meaning take the battery out while the phone is powered on?

and have you tried your same sim card in a different phone? it's entirely possible your phone is just messed up.

Like some SE that have the auto time update that freak out every once in awhile...

LG1200. I haven't tried hardshocking the phone, I'll try that tomorrow. The lady I talked to today at Cingular said to leave the phone on the rest of tonight so it can receive all the updates they sent, but she said to turn it off and turn it back on a couple of times a day. I'll get back to you after I hardshock it. Do you think the Cingular/AT&T merger has something to do with it? Maybe Cingular and AT&T are fighting over my phone? It seems kinda funny it all happened at about the same time. I've only had this phone for a couple of months. I had another phone with Cingular service before (in another region of the country) and never had or even heard of this problem before.

I tried hard-shocking the phone, didn't help. I think it's just the phone, so I'm going to probably have to fight with them to get a new one.

if you have an lg 1300, there was a problem with the antennas on these that caused them to have a problem in 850 mhz areas. replacement antennas were shipped out to customers in affected areas. if this is the case, contact XBM and have them send you a replacement phone with the new antenna, or stop in your local store and see if they have a new antenna for you if you havent already got yours
if you dont have the 1300, then i dont know 😛
