My wife is eligible for an upgrade. She wants the red pearl but does not want the data plan. She does not use the SMS or the internet on her phones. Does she have to get the data plan or can she just use her existing plan?

She doesn't need the internet, but she won't get the MIR. If you're not planning on using the internet, I'd buy one of the refurbs on Cingular.com.

Since she doesn't use texting, it wont matter, but MMS will not work without the BB internet package.
