Starting a new account with AT&T?

This question is for the AT&T employees that sell plans. When starting a new account do they do a credit check? I have a plan with Verizon right now that I have had for a long time. I have had some credit bumps about 1.5 years ago from a business venture and I wonder if I should not wait for an Iphone if I may not be able to start an account. What do they look for in the credit check? I have gotten accounts since my "credit bumps".. Just curious and thank you.

There is a credit check.

If you're curious, you can go into any Cingular store and have them run the check. They should also be able to print out the results for you. That way, if you're considering the iPhone, you'll at least know what the results were before you wait in line for the phone.

I believe those results stay in our system for at least 30 days.
