I don't get it.I cannot understand why people want to have a conversation trying to use those tiny keys, evern on a QWERTY screen.

Seems to me a phone call would be faster quicker and cheaper since you don't need to buy a "package"

are you on crack? did you just arrive from the 19th century? you just typed that message on a keyboard, why don't you call all of us instead of posting a message?

Reasons for texting:

too busy to talk, simple message is quick.

you can text in class, in meetings, in the bathroom, during a movie, etc etc while a phone conversation may not be appropriate.

I personally don't always want to have a phone conversation but I need to get across one message about, for example, "where to meet later"

anyway you get the point, pull your head out of your a$$.

No Im not om Crack. I have a full size QWERTY keyboard here, I don't see a reason to constantly use "text" messaging. I see teens doing it all the time and wonder why they just don't call. Press ONE button instead of a bunch. Can you say EASY? I understand the whole gimmick thing you guys are into. But this is more "work" then needed for communication.

Texting in a movie theater? Yeah I paid $10 so I can text my buddies. BEcasue I cant possibly be out of communication for two hours LOL.

IN CLASS? Well that answers a lot of questions regarding the lack of educated minds coming out of our schools.

And yes the old on the crapper text. Now THATS handy. Your "neighbor" can hear the gas escaping but not your message "where to meet me...

Okay so the first mistake everyone made, including myself, is responding to you. BUT, seeing as some people already have, I guess I will too.

Personally (the key word is personally) I use texting more than calling, because well its easier to text 10 people at a time then to take the time and call them. Perhaps if your social life was as bustling as some, then maybe you would understand.

I guess the bottom line is that, if you don't get it, fine. Other people do though, and I have this strange tingling feeling in my pants that says it won't go away.

Text Messaging or Smoke Signals? Hmm what a conundrum.

Well I am sure there is a great reason to text 10 people at a time. and the return texts must be fun as well FROM 10 people at a time. The more I read the more I read the more ridiculous you all sound.

Regardless of "your busting at the seams social life" As you grow up you will find if you die with 5 really great friends you will have accomplished more then most.

TExt messaging or smoke signals? LOL How about a simple press one button phone call?

It boils down to: To each his own. Whatever floats your boat - calling vs. texting, whatever the hell you prefer, go with it and let others do their own thing.

Jeeze you almost have me wondering how I lived for 20+ years without a cell phone at all!!!,

Obviously you need more "relevant" examples to make your point.

Well "relevant" was the wrong word there.

Look man if you are paying EXTRA for text messaging why not just buy more minutes instead if you have the need to communicate so much.

What did we ever do without text messaging? All those important jokes never got shared..... 🙄

Sorry Im not buying your latest attempt to reason sending "must send" cute little lines of minutia everywhere and all the time. But AT&T LOVES YOU GUYS.

This is it right here:

My plan:

450 minutes $39.99 + 1,500 texts $9.99 = $50

Your proposed bonehead plan:

900 minutes $59.99 + pay per text $?? = $60+

I win.

WE text all day at work, its easier to send sales updates through text as well as mass messaging is a lot easier to send one text to 8 different managers rather than call each one and tell them the same thing. Plus if I want to know whats going on after work I can send one message to all my friends rather than call each one individualy. In many instances texting saves a lot of time but I do agree that some people take it to the extreme and will text each other while sitting next to eachother. Now THAT is ridiculous.

i will usually just say fruck it and call them back instead of wasting time typing stuff out.

I work full time, and I'm a full time student. I don't have time to carry on a conversation except for maybe on Sunday nights. My dad has learned to text so that he can talk to me if I'm at work or whatever. If it weren't for that, I'd talk to him in 2-3 minute snippets (between classes, on the way to work, etc) over the course of the week.

I can't speak for everybody, but I wouldn't have much communication without text messaging.
