Since the Iphone has the added advantage of being instantly eligible for an upgrade, it is feasible that if someone asks for the iphone at your agent location and is eligible for an upgrade or starting a new contract that you can set them up with a free phone as a back up or for another line. They could then go get their Iphone and keep their CU400 or whatever in a drawer for a rainy day, or better yet sell it and make some cash back!! This way its a win win situation for agents and Cor. 😉
...
Only COR can sell iPhone, not agents...bunch of BS but I dont make the rules.
...
No sh!t, but you can sell them a 2 year contract on another phone prior to their getting the Iphone, and they will still be able to get the Iphone as well. AT&T will double pay for the contract. 😎 I think its because there is no subsidy on the Iphone.
...
I think you would get a backout when they void out your 2 year contract to replace it with the new one at the time of the iphone purchase.
...
Nope, as long as the phone is active you do not get a charge back. 😁 😎

We had a big @ss conference call this morning and this came up.
As things are now, it will automatically create a chargeback. Your Comp will be reversed when someone buys an iPhone, even though the iPhone pays a $0 Comp.
In my market, they've decided to manually go back after these instances and reinstate our initial Comp, but it's not intended to be exploited like that and if we abuse it they'll probably never do it for us again. I would highly suggest not doing that. Try and talk them into a different phone, but if they don't bite then direct them to an apple store.
Oh yeah... the ONLY way to activate this phone is through iTunes. You can buy it at a COR store, but not even they can activate it.
...
Really? Even Cor has been doing it up here for their friends.
...
Does COR get commission though? I thought they just got by the numbers and an act is an act.
For agents, you'll lose the store comp, which means you'll lose your commission too.
...
Hm, we were told that these would be reversible if it came down to it. However that we would have to check our charge backs. We will have to do this anyways with anyone activated in the last six months as they are already eligible for the Iphone.
...
I'm sure that agents will get the phone soon enough. AT&T probably just sent the phone to corporate stores because they have a limited supply at this point and don't know what the demand will be like. As the iPhone becomes more readily available, you'll probably see it in agent stores.
...
There wouldn't be any point unless we get them bellow our selling point. If they give it to indirects we still can't activate and get a comp from them so its pointless. There is no money in it for us.
...
This morning they said that once COR stores were out they'd be taking orders at the store for direct fulfillment. So basically you go to a store, pay for it, and Apple mails the phone to your house.

as far as chargeback i asked the same question
with scenario one
Customer upgraded in April with media max200 on plan and v3xx lets say
they get Iphone today and then go home and activate it
features will charge back but not the upgrade or new act u did prior to that
u get pay for both
now i also asked scenario two if
customer gets iphone today NEW act
then 3 months later comes back to get N75 lets say
will there be charge backs
answer NO
we again get paid for both
so i hope they are right
best thing for u to do is track it by IMEI
also agents a. wouldn't want to deal with the phone because u have to track it and make sure u get paid plus
theres no way for u to play with the price to inflate your commissio...
