maximum lines in family plan

Wanted to add my 4th child to our family plan today. With wife and three other kids we have 5 lines already on the family plan. Online was unable to add sixth line and this was confirmed by Att phone support. Is there any way around this? Will cost me alot to add my son as a new individual plan. Can any exceptions be made to this rule?

no u can't get around it unless u are on a business pool plan
u can have a 6th line added to an account when using a tax id but thats the only other way
...
And with that 6th line it still cannot be added to a FT plan, no ifs and or buts
...
do you have all these lines on the minimum 700 minute plan? you won't be able to share a 6th line on a family plan so maybe we can come up with a next best solution for you?

The best way, I would work it is to have 2 separate family plans of 3 phones each. Spread the heaviest 2 users between the 2 plans. There is no way to add a sixth line to a FP.

Thanks for all your replies. I currently have 1400 min plan. Splitting up into 3 each may work out best.

Actually I just did the math and 2 separate family plans may not be the best way to go. Currrently have 5 of us 1400 minutes at $90 plus 4@ $10 for $130. Adding my son as a individual plan 550 minutes for $40 would give a total of 1950 minutes(not all shared) at cost of $170. 2 separate 700 minutes plans would give a total of 1400 minutes at cost of $70 plus 2 @ $10 for a total of $180. Either way my phone bill goes way up---close to $300 minutes with messaging. 😡 Wish there was a better way
