Backorder

Just found out the LG L1400 is on backorder with Cingular.com. They have no idea when it will come in either. She said it could be tomorrow or a few weeks. I am pretty anxious to get this so I can test the coverage and get rid of Sprint ASAP.

They told me that I could order a new phone and then just send the LG back when I get it. If I decide to go with a different phone does anyone have any reccomendations within the 125.00 price range? I was looking at the Moto V400 as an alternative to the LG. Or the SE T637. Also the Samsung e317, but that is a bit high on the price tag for me.

my personal opinion - the v400 is better than the 1400. it has a speakerphone, better reception imo, and has a more attractive design imo. i would actually suggest to go with the v551 over the 400. it does the same thing, but adds bluetooth.

Thanks but from my understanding that phone is not going to be in my price range when released. I think I am seriously considering the SE T637 instead. Really wanted a flip but this phone has done so well in all the reviews. I am honestly a bit worried about the V400 with some of the complaints I have read about it. Don't want to start with a new service and a problematic phone. I want to be able to give Cingular a far shot.

You'd be happy with the 1400, trust me... I have the T637, but if you'd wait until the new phones come out, you won't be kicking yourself to hard for getting it... I love that phone, but when the new ones come out, that phone is history... hehe...

I know I would - played with it (LG) in Best Buy and loved it. Problem is that I can't wait too long to get it and Cingular doesn't know when they will have it in stock again.

Maybe I will look at getting through an online reseller. Saw some good prices for it on Wirefly and 800 Mobiles.

Well if you don't NEED a flip phone, you can go with the nokia 6010 or something....Nokia's phones tend to not be so outrageously priced, since they aren't flip ^^:

Um... that's not the reason... the reason is that Nokia thought the flip thing was a fad and noone would like it... and they are just now starting to catch up...

I'm still waiting for a nokia flip. And from my experience, flip phones have worse reception than flat phones.

That would be nice. I really covet the 6230, just can't afford it right now. I just like having a flip phone - not sure why.

Oh - I called Cingular to cancel my order (so I could go get it locally) and the lady I spoke with was shocked. She told me that they had over 1400 LG's in stock in the warehouse and by no means are they out of stock. Not only that, but my phone shipped yesterday. Guess the lady I spoke with this morning didn't do much but put me on hold and pretend to help. Ahh well - at least it is on it's way (I'll have it tomorrow).

I got it for 29.99 with 2 year contract. The store wanted 150.00 for 2 year contract. Thus the reason I bought it online and not in store.

It ias only 29.99 w/ a 2 year on line and now 129.99 in company owned stores with a 2 yr. No idea why but prices on line are better for the most part but you do have to wait and are often not active when received. But you might have wanted to wait. The V551 is on its way. I believe about 2 or 3 weeks if not sooner and will only be 99.99 w/ a 2 yr after $50 MIR. Much better phone than the 1400.

Yup - you are right on the pricing. I knew it was much more than what I paid for it online. The problem with waiting is I don't want to keep paying for Sprint and my month ends on the 21st. I want to be able to cancel before I have to pay for another month with them. Make sense? Ah, somewhere in my brain it does 😉

And hey - if they release the V551 within the next two weeks I can always swap out phones (I do get 14 days to "test drive"). Though I think I will be pretty happy with this one.
