will cingular have 7pm night and weekends or should i stay here

I have a plan that I am very happy with on the ATT network. I have a share plan at 59.00 a month plus 9.99 each additional phone. I have three phones in all. The biggest thing I like is the 7pm night and weekend starts. I noticed that cingular starts theirs at 9pm unless you pay an extra 7 dollars. I do not need rollover because I never go over my minutes now. Now my question, Can I stay with my current plan, phones, and service. Or will I have to make they switch. I have 18 months remaining on my current contract. Thanks and let me know. If I stay with ATT will I be able to still use cingulars network when I travel?

you can keep the plan and phones as long as you want but once after "day one" you want to change phone or plan you will have to change both and go with the new cingular equipment and plan.

Also youwon't be able to stay on those old AWs plans forever, cuz when "DAY 1" you have the plan whether its shared or indiviual local or national BUT this is the major thing if you want to chabge the plan for more orless minutes, chaneg coverage areas from a local to national you can't unless you go onto a cingular plan since as of "Day 1" they are legacy plans" and if any customers with ATT remembers those old "Regional Advantage plans" knows what i'm talking about ,cuz you got to stay on the plan but could change within that family to higher or lowert without migrationg off of it, same deal here so "Day 1" major stuff going down IE:phone no longer being produced for AWS, plans being expired "legacy" plans and cust get to stay on those plans...

up till nov 15,2004 after that if they want to get a different plan either local to local or local to national, nation to local or national to national THE CUSTOMER WILL NEED TO MIGRATE TO THE CINGULAR PLAN, THEY STATED THEY WON'T THE PLAN YOU ARE ON AWAY FROM YOU BUT THEY DON'T HAVE TO GIVE ANOTHER ATT PLAN, SO IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE THE SERVICE YOU ARE ON EITHER THE SAME TYPE JUST DIFFERENT MINUTES OR IF YOU WANT TO CHABGE THE TYPE OF PLAN AFTER "DAY 1" YOU CAN ONLY DO IT BY MIGRATION ONTO CINGULAR PLANS

Thanks for the info. I live in San Diego and love AT&T here. I had Cingular 3 years ago and it was very bad. Probably fine now though. I was wondering though if you know about 7pm night and weekends for free with cingular?

ON INDIVIDUAL PLANS 59.99 AND HIGHER WITH 2 YEAR CONTRACT ON SHARED PLANS YOU HAVE TO PAY $7.00 ON THE MAIN LINE AND ON THE FIRST EXTRA LINE AS WELL BUT YOUR OTHER EXTRA LINES DON'T PAY IT.

Yeah, that's the only thing I was disappointed in when I saw a preview of the new plans. But I guess the better coverage, the rollover, new phones, etc outweigh the cost of 7pm n/w.

But, I have a feeling they will be offering 'something' to help offset that cost. ATTWS hooked a lot of people into the free 7pm promotion and if they really want people to migrate, they might decide to throw that it in as a special promo.

I could be wrong though. =)

First if you want to stay on the plan that your on with AWS I would recommend getting Insurance....although this will only delay the inevitable if your phone is either lost/stolen or gives up the ghost...that being that if you need to get a replacement phone you will have migrate over to a new cingular plan and besides for a while Im almost certain that the prices of the phones and the rate plans that will be available will be very lucrative. The reason for this is that it is in cingulars best interest to get as many folks over to the plans than having to deal with them staying on old plans. Also as for the new 64 k sims why these are coming is simply because it will cut down on network congestion simply because the network wont have to keep...

Actually, if the AWS customer does NOT want to migrate to a Cingular plan, they WILL still have the options of different AWS plans to up/downgrade to.

IF THE CUSTOMER WANTS TO STAY ON THE AWS PLAN THEN GO UP OR DOWN ON AN AWS PLAN, THAT WOULD WORK EXCEPT FOR 1 THING, THERE IS NOT MORE ATT, THEYHAVE RIGHT TO USE THE NAME BUT THEY ARE NOT ATT CUSTOMERS ANYMORE THEY ARE OWNED LOCK STOCK AND CONTRACT TO CINGULAR TO DO WITH AS THEY CHOOSE, INCLUDING CUSTOMERS WHO WANT A NEW PLAN NEEDING TO MIGRATE TO A CURRENT PLAN.

IF YOU LISTENED TO THE TRAINING FOR THE MERGER TRAINING OR THE FOLLOWUP ONLINE TRAINING THEN YOU'D KNOW THEY WANT CUSTOMERS TO BE MIGRATED OVER ONTO CURRENT PLANS,THATS WHY PHONES ARE STOP BEING MADE TO RECOGNIZE "BRAND RECOGNITION" AND THEY WANT EVERYTHING GONE, EVERYTHING ATT WILL DE GONE IN 6 MONTHS, WHETHER ANYONE LIKES IT OR NOT 😈 😈 😈

Look, chill with the yelling. I listened to the merger training. IF the previously-AWS customer does NOT want to migrate, they can STAY with what they have, and they WILL get to slide up and down their plan structure, same as TDMA customers with Cingular now.

Did YOU listen??? 😡

coldsteel...what the other guy is saying is the same way I interpreted the training. the way I read/understood it was keep your existing AT&T Wireless plan as is, but if you want a new plan you have to pick Cingular's new plan AND a new Cingular phone. if you want to buy a new phone, you have to buy a Cingular phone AND pick a new Cingular rate plan. i think equipment insurance and wex are the only exceptiosn. truth is, no one really knows, lol.

well, as I was writing this, my supervisor sent the following out:
--Our internal jargon will be Blue and Orange but we will still be using our name to the customers for blue rate plans
--BE SURE to tell customers if they migrate they cannot come back to an AWS plan. No buyers remorse with AWS....

Yeahp... ATTWS will not be "forced" into Cingular... They will be able to stay ATTWS w/ ATTWS rp's but both sides have to push to move them Cingular... As far as the ATTWS name being gone in 6 months, that doesn't mean we'll be migrating 23 million customers in 6 months... It's simply not possible... it means we will no longer be allowed to use the ATTWS name for marketing, IVR's, bills etc... But the cust's will still be on Blue rp's and contracts until we're fully migrated.

If you want to stay, you can. IF you decide to move to a Cingular plan, you'll pay $14 extra a month on the main line only for all your FT lines to get N&W at 7 PM.

Also, you'll be a Cingular customer, just grandfathered on the old AWS plan, so you get the network coverage. 😁

DON'T GIVE THE CUSTOMERS FALSE ILLUSIONS 🙄 🙄

IF THE CUSTOMER EVENTUALLY DOES NOT MIGRATE TO A CINGULAR PLAN THEY WILL COME DOWN TO A POINT WHERE THEY WILL EITHER MIGRATE OR THEY WILL BE SOLD OFF TO A DIFFERENT COMPANY, REMEMBER AWS HAS TO DIVEST ITSELF IN CERTAIN MARKETS, OF SPECTRUM FREQ THAT AWS USES, SO IF CUSTOMER GETS SOLD THEN THATS THEIR RESPONSIBILITY

IF YOU DID NOT NOTICE, THINGS ARE BEING GEARED TOWARDS JUST THAT, IF YOU NOTICE THE NEW CINGULAR PHONES AND SIMS WONT WORK ON ANY AWS SERVICE SYSTEM.AS OF NOV 15,2004 WHEN THE PHONES STOP BEING PRODUCED FOR ATT AND CUSTOMERS CAN'T GET A PHONE BECAUSE THEY WILL SELL WHATS IN STOCK THEN THEY ARE S.O.L.

there is a nice trainer lady who did our merger training who specifically said the phones will be stopped being made as of nov 15,2004, also watch the cingular comercials for plans, offers end nov 15,2004, also they specifically told that to offer cingular plans and phones as they want customers offer thats why we also got on our systems to perform migrations now, we have it setup now, as "friendly ports"

we were also told that the plans are expired as of the nov 15,2004, and we cant offer plans and promotions as they are expired, and further proof, is that my e-mail address is the same name and spelling of a retail manager in Cali. I got his playbook sent to him by cingular, Very interesting stuff, like customers can go there for phone...

Correct. BUT, if the 'Blue' customer wants to STAY with their AWS phone and plans, BUT needs more minutes, then they WILL be able to get an AWS plan. It's...

Not sure what blue is. Here we have Red, Yellow, Orange customers. We have been told that we won't be able to sell TDMA phones or TDMA plans. If a cust wants to switch plans they will have to switch to a Cingular GSM plan with a Cingular GSM phone. But then again that may change if there is a lot of feedback about it. I know i'm sending feedback as soon as day one hits about that issue.
